What is UNESCO Kids?
Children who habe learned to appreciatenature grow up to become adultswho do not harm nature.
UNESCO Kids is an environmental education project for children hosted by the UNESCO Kids Committee, which consists of several organization including the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. and other organizations.The project has the full support of NTT DOCOMO,which hopes to bring people and nature closer together in the same way it brings people together with mobilephones. What makes this project special is that it does not explicitly focus on protecting nature, despite being an environmental education effort.
Why we believe that sharing information about nature with children will ultimately protect nature…
We believe it is more important to help children learn to appreciate nature first rather than simply telling them to protect nature for a 100 times. UNESCO Kids provide opportunities for children that help them become more familiar with nature by teaching them about World Natural Heritage sites on mobile phones, the most common device for presenting media to both parents and their children. We also encourage people to experience nature in person and in seminars. First and foremost, our goal is to foster an appreciation of nature among as manychildren as possible.

We created an application that helps children become more familiar with nature and animals around the world, hoping that parents and children will enjoy it together.
UNESCO Kids Application “Let’s Get Up Close to Animals!”
Have you ever wanted to get closer to animals from around the world and take a good look at them? This isn’t easy to do in the wild or even at the zoo. This application allows you to observe close up the many animals found in World Natural Heritage sites. You’ll be amazed at how close you can actually get to them! The wildlife you can see varies from tiny animals to really big ones. In addition, functions of the application will lead you to many discoveries, found only by getting as close to the animals as you can!
